Thank you for taking the time to check out our site and learn how we may be able to assist you towards living a healthier lifestyle! My name is Ken Richardson and I have been a part of the Advanced Training Techniques, Inc. team since April 2008. I never in a million years thought I’d become a Personal Trainer, but after being given an opportunity of a lifetime and since certifying in August of 2008, I have developed a passion for fitness and each day strive to learn more to help as many people as I can.

Ken RichardsonBack in 2007, I had just recently graduated from college and was probably in the worst physical condition of my life. I wasn’t doing much physical activity and felt I was getting bigger by the day! I then decided that it was time for me to get this part of my life handled so I joined a gym with a few friends. From then on, I started to really watch what I was eating as well as attending the gym three to four days a week. Mind you at this time I didn’t have a clue about anything fitness related, except from what my friends had told me. However for several months I really starting seeing great results and even managed to get my weight down 30 pounds! But that’s when the plateau hit. No matter what I did, I could not lose anymore “weight” or put up anymore “reps.” I tried running more/less, eating more/less and even stopped working out for a week. Nothing worked! I was frustrated and slowly starting attending the gym less and less and the “weight” started to come back more and more.

Fortunately for me, this was right about the time I met Brent Steepe, CEO of Advanced Training Techniques, Inc., and was given an opportunity to learn about the fitness industry. At this point in my life, I was still unsure on what exactly I wanted to pursue as a career so I thought I’d give it a chance. I started off by shadowing with Brent two to three times a week, getting exposure to live clientele and really got to see what the company was all about. After about two weeks I was hooked and realized that fitness is what I wanted to devote my life to.

I have learned so much in such a short period of time and strive to learn something new everyday in an effort to help as many people as I can. As far as my fitness goes, I have broken through the plateau and then some. I may only be down a few pounds from when I originally started with the company but my strength, balance, endurance and overall total body wellness have improved substantially. While I continue to expand my education and work towards my goals, I’m excited to begin the journey in getting you to your fitness goals!
